MINNIE & ME

Not many people know that I have a twin. Though we were not birthed together from the same womb, Minnie arrived at home more or less the same day I did. I don't know where she comes from, but I'd like to imagine that she was an unwanted child whom Momma found under a bridge or near the dumpster.



We are not exactly identical, but we do have some similarities (according to Momma, at least).


All I see are ears, and they're not even mine!

We have this sort of love-hate relationship. Sometimes, at night while I'm being nursed to sleep, Momma will take Minnie & let her have some too. She'd say, she loves Minnie becoz Minnie is good & obedient, unlike me who likes to talk back & undermine her authority.

When Momma goes to sleep before me & duracell bunny-me is still wide awake & having a helluva time on the big people's bed, I'd go over to Minnie & kick her off the bed & throw jeers at her. Abah usually becomes the witness of this act of physical abuse & thinks it's just a normal & amusing bedtime antics.

Everyday when I wake up, she'll be there next to me. She'll always be awake before me & stares at me with those big eyes & curly lashes.



Sometimes, when I'm in the mood, I'll give her a morning kiss. She usually doesn't complain about my milk breath. Sayang, sayang, Minnie...



But most of the time, being the rough & rumble kinda gal, Minnie usually falls victim to my kicks & punches.
